Mission

The Miami-Dade Sexual Assault Response Initiative (MDSARI) is a pioneering, nurse led 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing comprehensive trauma-informed care to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking where they need services. Our mission is to enhance and standardize emergency response services in Miami-Dade County through the implementation of a Mobile Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) unit, a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program, a 24/7 crisis hotline, and trauma informed training for community partners. We recognize the need to hold perpetrators accountable. We aim to improve survivor outcomes and foster a coordinated evidence-based community response for survivors of these violent crimes in Miami Dade County.

Vision

Our vision is to set the national standard for the safest community for vulnerable populations through the implementation of pragmatic services and trauma-informed solutions to violent crimes. We envision a future where all residents of our community will enjoy their lives to their fullest potential without fear of violent crime going unpunished. We strive to ensure survivors receive the tangible ongoing support they need regardless of their ability to pay for services. We see a future where survivors are not blamed for their abuse and where their human rights are respected above those of their abusers.
